Fabric
Blinds
Fabric
blinds refer to all blinds that are made of fabric. These are
the honeycomb or cellular blinds, the pleated, roman, and
roller blinds. They come in different colors but are mostly of
the pastel hues.
Honeycomb blinds have cellular shapes that
make them energy efficient. They are also good for reducing
sound propagation. That means, you can’t hear the noise from
outside and they can’t hear your
conversations.
Pleated
shades are typically semi-transparent although privacy liners
or total blackout liners can be added to the back if privacy is
needed. Unlike honeycomb blinds though, this type of fabric
blinds are not as energy efficient.
Roman
shades are the most familiar type of fabric blinds. Aside from
being one of the oldest designs, they also come in the widest
range of colors and patterns. Although most are made of
polyester, you can also find linen, silk, and cotton
types.
Roller
shades, as the name implies, operate on a roller system as they
are pulled up or down. The materials and colors used are the
same as Roman shades. That is to say, polyester, linen, silk or
cotton. Some state-of-the-art models can be manipulated through
either a radio or infrared control.
